things are looking bright.

i finally made a real header for my blog!  what do you think?  did you like the old, simple one?  or do you think the new one should stay?  i'd love everyone's honest opinion!

today i actually got to sit down on my plush sofa, enjoy a cup of hot coffee (i drink mine black), and flip through my new better homes and gardens magazine and the latest j.crew catalog.  this moment of bliss only lasted about 20 minutes, but hey - i couldn't have hoped for any more time than that!  it's things like this that keep me from feeling like someone who's only purpose is to cook, clean, change poopy diapers, and deal with tantrums and crying.  writing my blog is also therapeutic like that!

anyway...
how cute are these books?  my mother in-law made them for the kids and even bought the real paper-paged little golden books too!  this way Finn's not trying to grab at the pages and annoying his big sister while i'm reading :)  thanks grandma!

  3. Ashlee - i agree about the kitchen temptations! it took me a while to narrow my list down to 4 of my favorites! and thanks for your input on the header, i wasn't sure if i should try something else out.

LC - thank you! i actually got my monster from my dad in november... the little guy was trying to eat my birthday giftcard! haha!

  10. Cindi - thanks! i actually do have to edit pictures a ton - mostly because of lighting and my camera isn't the greatest so i have to adjust the contrast a lot.

  11. I love your header!! Makes me think that maybe I should consider putting a real header on my blog. To be honest, I'm not really sure how to do it. :P Did you just take a picture and format it a certain way?
I actually have some loose shadow pigments that I don't really like because they're too glittery, and I bet I could mess around with those and come up with cool picture or something.

  12. Leah - all i did was take a picture of the little monster guy with the paper in his zippy mouth, then i uploaded it into Picassa and cropped it the way i wanted and when i edited my header on the dashboard all i did was click "shrink to fit" and wah-la! :) it's pretty simple. if you want help in yours i'd be more than willing to do whatever! i think the loose shadow pigments could work really well... maybe on a stark white backround?

  18. Pam - thanks for the input! i really appreciate it :)

Cat -thanks girl! i originally wanted the orange belt, but decided to go with a medium so i could do fancy things with it and the only color left was pink, so i bit anyway because lets face it, my wardrobe is lacking serious accessories! and thanks for adding me to your blog roll - that's so sweet of you :)

Jessica - so true! these days i'll take any time to myself to sit back and just breathe! my mother in-law is very talented at sewing and my husband and i are the only ones with grandchildren (on both sides) so they get spoiled rotten with these types of things. And my mother... well, she loves to buy clothes for them (like mother like daughter!).
