random.

this week really flew by and i think it's because Dave has had more days off this week than he's had since he started his job.  we recently went through a 16 day stretch where he only had 2 days off, so this is practically a vacation for us!  saturday morning i'm taking the kids to the local farmer's market and am hoping that Dave and my father in-law will join us.  i like to get out as much as i can because i'm pretty much trapped in my apartment all day long most of the time.  it's tough only having one vehicle and not being able to bring the baby out into this 100+ degree weather.  i'm highly anticipating fall right now!

  1. Such a great post, Aimee! It's like I'm looking into your mind. I love your OOTD...that skirt really accents your little cute figure. OOhhh..that curtain call dress is "calling" my name. Do you know what fabric and what color? It looks black on this stupid old computer screen I have at work. Literally, it's like from 2000.

Vintage tee huh? I love those too and have quite a few that I wear at home on the weekends. Do they have to be true vintage or just vintage-esque? Haha. Cause most of mine are from urban outfitters.

  2. Cindi - vintage-esque is great! i just want to see what you girls can do with them :) i've been a jeans and tee girl practically my entire life, so this blog has really helped me come out of my comfort zone a bit. i love it, but you gotta stay true to your roots! hahaha!

  3. I love the outfit. That flower clip is so cute. You'll have to share how you made it.

  6. Liz - thanks! the clip was actually a gift from my sister in-law. al i did was clip it to the sash and belt loop to keep it in place and it looks like a pin that's supposed to be there :) i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too hard to make - maybe i'll try and let you know how it goes!

Cindi - can't wait to see what you do!

Ashlee - thanks! it's so weird how i've had these items for so long, but hve never put them together like that. happens to me all the time. and that bracelet is really pretty - i just wish it were way cheaper!

  7. There are lots of randomly priced things at Anthro! That lucite bracelet is insane. Love what you did with the flower clip. I'm going to steal that idea :) I'll try to find a tee for your post, but most of my vintage tees are at my mom's :( Fortunately, I can raid my sisters closet for the next 2 days :)

  8. LOL, I had to do a double-take at the price of that bracelet -- what??!! That is pretty crazy. I could see $40-50 for it...maybe. (Not that I still wouldn't wait for it go on sale even then!

Great eye on the Curtain Closer dress -- it really *is* similar to the Fall Folliage dress in material and drape. I never would have caught that myself I don't think. Now I am all excited to see it in stores and try it! :)

  9. Cat - i can totally understand having things at your mom's house! i've been married almost 5 years and i STILL have so much crap at my parent's house. oops! can't wait to see what you pull from your sister's closet!

goldenmeans - okay... yeah, $15 is a bit low. i'll give the bracelet more credit since resin is better than acrylic. $30 would be the max for me :) haha! Do you own the Fall Foliage Dress? I'm so so so sad I wasn't able to get it last year, but i've seen them floating about on eBay pretty frequently - i just ave to pull the trigger on that. can't wait to hear what you think of the Curtain Call Dress!
